- 2 tablespoons paprika
- 2 tablespoons garlic powder
- 1½ tablespoons oregano
- 1 tablespoon onion powder
- 2½ teaspoons kosher salt
- 2 teaspoons dried thyme
- 2 teaspoons freshly ground black pepper
- 1½ teaspoons cayenne pepper
- ½ cup mayonnaise
- 1 green onion, finely chopped
- 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
- 1 teaspoon hot sauce (e.g., Frank’s, Texas Pete, Tabasco)
- 1 teaspoon dill relish
- ¾ teaspoon Cajun seasoning (from above), or to taste
- 1½ pounds ground beef (80/20 or 85/15)
- ⅓ cup finely minced onion
- 2 cloves garlic, pressed
- 1½ teaspoons Cajun seasoning (from above)
- Sandwich buns and desired burger toppings
Instructions
- In a small bowl, mix together all the seasoning ingredients.
- In another bowl, combine mayonnaise, green onion, Dijon mustard, hot sauce, dill relish, and ¾ teaspoon of the prepared Cajun seasoning. Cover and refrigerate the remoulade sauce until ready to use.
- In a large bowl, mix ground beef, minced onion, pressed garlic, and 1½ teaspoons of the prepared Cajun seasoning. Form into four patties, making an indentation in the center of each. Refrigerate until ready to cook.
- Preheat the grill to medium-high heat and oil the grates.
- Grill the burgers for about 5 minutes on one side, flip, and grill for an additional 4-5 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C).
- Let the burgers rest for 5 minutes.
- Assemble the burgers on buns with desired toppings and a generous dollop of remoulade sauce.
Notes
- Adjust the amount of cayenne pepper for desired spiciness.
- Feel free to customize burger toppings to your preference.
