Ingredients
Scale
- 1 package (15.25 oz) chocolate cake mix
- 1 package (3.9 oz) instant chocolate pudding mix
- 4 cups milk
- 1 package (8 oz) cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1 container (12 oz) whipped topping, thawed
- 1 package (14 oz) Oreo cookies, crushed
- 1 cup gummy worms
- 1 cup pastel M&M’s or chocolate eggs for decoration
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F.
- Prepare the chocolate cake mix according to package instructions and bake in a 9×13 inch baking dish for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Allow the cake to cool completely.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the instant chocolate pudding mix and milk. Whisk until smooth and let it sit for 5 minutes to thicken.
- In another bowl, beat the softened cream cheese and powdered sugar together until smooth. Fold in the whipped topping until well combined.
- Once the cake has cooled, crumble it into small pieces in the baking dish.
- Spread the pudding mixture evenly over the crumbled cake, followed by the cream cheese mixture.
- Sprinkle the crushed Oreo cookies on top to create the ‘dirt’ layer.
- Decorate with gummy worms and pastel M&M’s or chocolate eggs.
- Refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving to allow the layers to set.
Notes
- For a fun twist, try using vanilla pudding instead of chocolate for a lighter flavor.
- You can also substitute crushed graham crackers for the Oreos for a different texture and taste.
