Ingredients

  • 1 lb shrimp (peeled & deveined)
  • 1 medium green cabbage, shredded
  • 2 tbsp olive oil, divided
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1 medium onion, thinly sliced
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Juice of 1/2 lemon
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Pat shrimp dry and season with salt, pepper, and paprika.
  2. Heat 1 tbsp olive oil in a skillet. Cook shrimp 2–3 minutes per side, then remove.
  3. Add remaining oil and butter. Sauté onion until soft. Add garlic and cook 30 seconds.
  4. Add cabbage, season, and cook 10–12 minutes until tender and caramelized.
  5. Return shrimp to the skillet. Add lemon juice and stir. Heat 1–2 minutes.
  6. Top with parsley and serve hot.

Notes

  • Red cabbage can be used for extra color.
  • Add bacon or sausage for a meatier version.
  • Reheats well for lunch the next day.
