Ingredients
Scale
- 1 sheet frozen puff pastry, thawed
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 2 cups fresh spinach, finely chopped
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp dried oregano
- 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/4 cup crumbled feta cheese
- 1 egg (for egg wash)
- 1 tbsp milk or water (to mix with egg)
- Optional: sesame seeds or parmesan for topping
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Sauté garlic in olive oil, then add chopped spinach, salt, pepper, and oregano. Cook until wilted and moisture evaporates. Cool, then mix with cheeses.
- Unfold puff pastry and roll slightly to smooth. Cut in half lengthwise to form 2 long rectangles.
- Spread spinach filling on one half. Top with second half and press lightly.
- Cut into strips (about 1-inch wide), twist each strip, and place on baking sheet.
- Brush with egg wash. Sprinkle sesame seeds or parmesan if desired.
- Bake for 20–22 minutes or until golden brown. Cool slightly before serving.
Notes
- Use frozen spinach if preferred — just thaw and squeeze dry before using.
- Chill pastry slightly if it becomes too soft to handle while twisting.
- Great with tzatziki, marinara, or spicy yogurt dip.
