Ingredients
Scale
- 1 loaf of French, Italian, or sourdough bread
- 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, softened
- 4 garlic cloves, finely minced
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
- 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
- Salt, to taste (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 425°F (218°C).
- Slice the bread into 1-inch sections, without cutting through the base.
- In a bowl, mix softened butter, garlic, olive oil, mozzarella, Parmesan, parsley, and red pepper flakes.
- Stuff the mixture between bread slices and spread any extra on top.
- Wrap the loaf in foil and bake for 20 minutes.
- Unwrap and bake an additional 10 minutes until golden and bubbly.
- Let rest for a few minutes, then serve warm and enjoy.
Notes
- Use fresh garlic for best flavor, but garlic powder works in a pinch.
- You can prepare and refrigerate this loaf a few hours ahead before baking.
- Feel free to mix cheeses—cheddar, Monterey Jack, or provolone work great!
